BOLANGIRI, NOV. 12: Odisha skill development and technical education minister Usha Devi’s handbag has allegedly been stolen from train while she was travelling in Puri-Durg Express.

Reports on Saturday said the incident took place when she was on Friday evening on her way to Kantabanjhi from Bhubaneswar in the train.

The handbag contained a mobile phone and Rs 25,000, reports added.

It is suspected that the miscreants stole the minister’s article between Rairakhol and Angul railway stations.

The police has started investigation into the incident after the minister lodged a complaint with Titlagarh Government Railway Police (GRP).

Mohan Nayak, inspector-in-charge, Titlagarh GRP informed that cash, a mobile phone and the ID card of the minister have been stolen.

“We have registered a case and started probe into the matter,” said the inspector.
