Bhubaneswar, Nov. 15:  A Bagdogra-bound Spicejet flight from Chennai with 189 passengers on board was on Tuesday diverted to Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital due to medical emergency of one of them.

According to BPIA director SC Hota, SpiceJet 623 landed at the airport at 12.26 PM following health problem of a passengers namely N Das (64).

Doctors available in the Medical Inspection Room at BPIA immediately attended the patient. After a thorough checking, the passenger was declared fit to fly, the press note said.

The aircraft departed for its destination at 1.56 PM from the airport, the note added.

Though a city ambulance also reached the airport, it was not required as there was no necessity of medical admission.
