4 members of family killed by relative over land dispute

Bhubaneswar, May 24: In a gruesome act, four members of a family, including two minor children, were allegedly stabbed to death by their relative over a land dispute. The incident was reported from Jhikijhiki village under Bhatli police limits in Bargarh district.
The deceased were identified as Gurudev Bag, his wife Sibagri Bagh, their son Chudamai (15) and daughter Sravani (10).
According to sources, the accused, identified as Siba Bagh, and the family members of the victim were at loggerheads over a piece of land for a long time.
Late on Monday night, the accused barged into the victim’s house and allegedly stabbed his nephew, daughter-in-law and their son and daughter using a crowbar resulting in their death on the spot.
On being informed about the incident, police rushed to the spot and detained the accused.
The police also sealed the room in which the bodies were found lying in a pool of blood and called for a scientific team for further investigation into the matter.
