46th All India Major Ports Football Championship Kicks Off at Gopabandhu Stadium

Paradip, Feb. 12: The much-anticipated 46th All India Major Ports Football Championship 2024-25 commenced at Gopabandhu Stadium, Paradip, bringing together teams from eight major ports across the country. The grand sporting event was inaugurated by Shri A.K. Bose, Advisor (Traffic), Paradip Port, marking the beginning of an intense competition held in a League-cum-Knockout format.
The championship is being jointly organized by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) and the Major Ports Sports Control Board. The tournament, showcasing exceptional football talent from India’s major ports, is set to conclude on February 16, 2025.
The inaugural match featured a competitive clash between the host team, Paradip Port Authority (PPA), and Vishakhapatnam Port Authority, setting the tone for an exciting tournament ahead. The event proceedings were presided over by Shri D.N. Sondhi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, adding to the prestige of the championship.
Several distinguished dignitaries were present at the inauguration, including Dr. D.P. Sethy, Secretary of the Organising Committee, Shri Rabi Dash, Co-ordinator, and Shri Ranjan Rashmi Beura, Joint Secretary, who extended their best wishes to the participating teams.
As the championship unfolds, football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate thrilling matches and spirited performances from the competing teams, making this edition of the All India Major Ports Football Championship a memorable sporting spectacle.
