7 killed, over 40 injured after bus collides with truck in Ayodhya, CM Yogi expresses grief
UTTAR PRADESH, APR 22 : Seven passengers were killed and more than 40 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
The bus toppled sideways after colliding with the truck and came under a loaded goods carrier, officials said.
The accident happened late on Friday evening, when the private bus coming from Ayodhya tried taking a turn on the highway to move towards Ambedkarnagar. The bus collided with the truck coming from the opposite side, killing 7 people and injuring over 40 passengers.
The district administration launched a rescue operation soon after the accident.
“Around 12 people have been sent to the hospital. 5 have been sent to the district hospital and 7 to a medical college. Some casualties also occurred. The rescue operation has been completed, said Ayodhya District Magistrate, Nitish Kumar, reported ANI.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident, his office said in a tweet in Hindi.
“UP CM Yogi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the road accident in Ayodhya district. CM has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and also directed the officials of the district administration to take the injured to the hospital immediately and provide them with proper treatment and speed up the relief work. Also, wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.” (sic), CMO tweeted.

CM Yogi also directed the district administration to take the injured to the hospital and provide them with proper treatment.
