PIB holds ‘Vartalap’ workshop in Khurda; experts laud momentous growth under NDA in past 9 years

Khurda, June 28: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s nine years in power at the Centre has brought about massive economic development in the country and the nation has emerged the fifth largest economy in the world, surpassing the United Kingdom.

The fruits of the NDA government’s economic and administrative reforms have percolated down to every citizen of India and the nation is poised to see further developments across all sectors because of the new initiatives taken during this period, said senior journalist Akshaya Kumar Sahoo here at the ‘Vartalap.’

The workshop was organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India.

Renowned writer and speaker Professor Surya Narayan Mishra; senior journalist Pradymna Satpathy and Prabhat Kumar Panigrahi also joined the works as experts.

Mr Sahoo, while listing out various administrative and economic reform measures rolled out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ever since he came to power in 2014, stated that India had already become 3.75 trillion dollar economy and the day is not far away when the country will become a 5 trillion dollar economy.

The scribe also mentioned about the growth achieved in agriculture, industry and service sectors.

Professor Surya Narayan Mishra spoke on the role of Khurda (Khordha) in the Indian freedom struggle. He mentioned about the role of Jayi Rajguru and many other leaders who led the Paika Bidroh which he said was justifiably called the First War of Independence.

Odisha’s learned journalist and eloquent orator Pradymna Satpathy mesmerized the participants with his usual style of presenting facts on the strong resistance put up by the Paikas of Khurda to the English rulers.

Throwing lights on Seva, Sushan and Garib Kalyan, Mr Satpathy the nine years of NDA rule has actually a period of service to the people, not rule of administrators to subjects.

“Whichever area you look at or take into consideration, you will find the reflections of the good governance of the NDA government. Everybody has experienced the fruits of clean and transparent administration,” said Mr Satpathy.

Mr Prabhat Kumar Panigrahi, senor journalist, spoke on the role of media in development of the country. He stressed on truthful and objective reporting of facts to uphold the sanctity of the media.

Presided over by Dr Girish Chandra Dash, joint director (M&C), CBC and Regional Officer, CBFC, Government of India, the workshop was curated by P. K. Choudhury, M &CO, PIB.

Mr Majoj Kumar Jali, IIS, Deputy Director (M&C), PIB, also joined the workshop.

Khurda information and public relations officer Jyotsnarani Acharya gave vote of thanks.

Many journalists of Khurda participated in the workshop.
