MANIPUR,JULY 21 : Two days after a video showing two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur went viral, the house of the main accused, Huirem Herodas Meitei, was on Thursday burnt down by miscreants.
Visuals of the incident showed a group of protestors, mostly women, setting the accused’s house on fire.
The video, which had gone viral, showed women from one of the warring communities in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district being paraded naked by a mob from the other side.
The incident, which happened in a village in Kangpokpi district, took place a day after ethnic violence erupted in the northeastern state on May 3. However, the horrific footage surfaced only on Wednesday and became viral after the internet ban was lifted.
