Career Map’s Path Pradarshak 1.0 brings together edu institutions, career experts under one roof

Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16: Career Map, a unit of Identity group, on Saturday brought together educational institutes, career experts and students under roof its latest project PATH PRADARSHAK 1.0 held here at Rail Auditorium near the East Coast Railway head quarters.
PATH PRADARSHAK 1.0 is a career fair which precisely acts as the gateway to help students understand what choice of careers they have and where to pursue them. This fair is designed to help them map out a suitable career along with the job/entrepreneurial prospects that the stream promises.
This career fair was inaugurated by Raghuram R Iyer, Director, higher secondary education, Lalita Pattnaik, Educational consultant, UNICEFF Odisha and Prof. B.K. Bahinipati, chairperson (Admissions) XIM University.
India is fast emerging as a centre for industrial and academic excellence on the world stage. The buzz word is progress. However, to achieve this, the country needs manpower – trained manpower.
There was a time when students had to choose between Engineering, Medicine and a few other streams. The courses offered was also conventional and did not compete well on a global scale.
But now, with the expansion of education capacity and the formulation of NEP, students have the option of choosing a stream of their choiceto excel. However, the common dilemma is which career to choose and why!
Career Map, a unit of Identity group, Bhubaneswar, has pioneered career counselling in Odisha and boasts of having provided career guidance to more than 20 lakh school students. Besides this the company has also provided Pre-Placement Training to 20,000 Engineering and Management students. We are also serving Secondary and Higher secondary schools under the department of School and Mass Education in partnership with UNICEFF. Career Map is ready with its latest project Path Pradarshak 1.0.
The event brought together educational institutions and other career experts under one roof. They hailed from universities offering multi discipline programs from across the country, Premiere Institutes like IITs, AIIMS, Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Indian Institute of Travel and Tourism Management (IITTM), Govt Aviation Training Institutes, Startup Odisha among the premiere knowledge sharing partners.
Career experts from agriculture, architecture, bio technology, engineering, medical, para medical, commercial pilot, defence, law, humanities, company secretary, chartered accountant, cipet, world skill centre, management institutes and a galaxy of other professionals imparted one to one career counselling to the visiting students.
After attending this fair, students became aware of the different career options available. Through, one-to-one interaction, they got to know the details of what is the scope of each career which will enable them to take decisive career decisions.
One big advantage the student got was that they were be able to focus on their career goalsand how to achieve their career goals.
Career Map was overwhelmed by the spontaneous response and support that educational institutions and professionals gave to this first of its kind event. More than 2000 students, from classes 11and 12 along with their parents visited the grand Career Fair and take full advantage of this.
After this exposure, students are expected to do a lot searches on the Internet on Career related sites. This in turn will create more questions in the minds of these students. To address thisCareer Map will organise more career camps in schools and colleges and also more such career fairs as follow up to this fair.
