Man punished by villagers for dumping newborn baby girl in Odisha

BALASORE, APRIL 29: In a shocking incident, a person allegedly abandoned his one-year-old daughter under a tree at Medagadia village in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday night.
According to reports, Kailash Chandra Sahu, the accused father, was unhappy over his first child being a girl. During the absence of his wife, he took away the baby from house and dumped her under a tree.
Hearing cries of the baby, locals rescued her and later handed her over to her mother.
After getting aware of the whole incident, the villagers thrashed Kailash and detained him.
The police has started investigation into the incident.
