Malkangiri Police Uncover Major Maoist Arms Cache

Malkangiri,3rd April,2024:-In a significant development, Malkangiri police, under the leadership of S.P.Malkangiri Nitesh Wadwani, revealed the discovery of a major Maoist dump on April 3, 2024. Acting on specific intelligence, an intensive search operation was conducted by the District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Intelligence Personnel in the general area under Kalimela Police Station jurisdiction, bordering Andhra-Odisha.
The operation, which commenced at approximately 6:30 AM, led to the uncovering of an underground cache concealed within the jungle area near Dayaltung village under Kalimela PS jurisdiction. This discovery marks a significant breakthrough in efforts to combat Maoist insurgency in the region.
The seized materials include a substantial quantity of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and materials used in their fabrication. The inventory comprises 190 Gelatin Sticks, 12 IEDs weighing 2 KG to 20 KGs.
Authorities suspect that these explosives were intended for use against civilians and security forces, serving the subversive agenda of Maoist factions, particularly the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC). This seizure deals a significant blow to the nefarious designs of Maoist insurgents in the region.
In response to this breakthrough, ongoing combing and search operations are being conducted to further ensure the safety and security of the area’s residents. The Malkangiri police remain committed to upholding peace and stability, thwarting attempts by Maoist elements to disrupt the region’s tranquility and progress.
