Collector Malkangiri Urges Maximum Voter Turnout Ahead of Polling Day

Makangiri,10th May 2024 :-In a press meet held at the Collectorate Malkangiri today, Collector cum District Election Officer Sachin Pawar emphasized the importance of maximum voter participation in the upcoming elections. The polling for Malkangiri Assembly Constituency, Chitrakonda Assembly Constituency in Odisha is scheduled for 13th May, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, marking the first phase of the electoral process.
With a significant voter count of 5,52,544 individuals set to cast their ballots across 547 polling centers, the administration is geared up for a smooth and efficient electoral process. Notably, 30 “Sakhi” booths, managed entirely by women, along with two booths dedicated to the PWD( Person with Disability), and 10 youth booths staffed with officers aged 30 years and younger, highlight the inclusivity and diversity in the voting process.
Assuring the electorate of essential facilities, Collector Sachin Pawar outlined provisions such as toilets, water, ORS, medicine, and other amenities, particularly crucial given the prevailing extreme heat conditions. Additionally, stringent security measures have been put in place, especially in the 114 identified sensitive booths, to ensure a safe and secure voting environment.
Of significant note is the introduction of voting facilities in Swabhiman Anchal, providing residents with the opportunity to cast their votes in their own localities. This initiative aims to promote accessibility and civic engagement among all sections of society.
The press meet was attended by other key officials including Additional District Magistrate Vedabar Pradhan, ADM Somnath Pradhan, Sub Collector cum Returning Officer Duryodhan Bhoi, and Additional Sub Collector Yogeswar Bhoi, signifying a unified administrative effort towards conducting free, fair, and transparent elections in the region.
