Balangir, June 5: The local community of Balangir plunged into grief following the demise of renowned organizer Sanjeev Sahu, who passed away on the evening of June 4, 2025, at 7 PM in ABSS Pada. A well-known philanthropist, idealist, and strong organizer, Sahu was widely admired for his humility, ever-smiling face, and warm words.

His untimely passing has left a deep void in the hearts of residents and well-wishers. As a mark of respect, a two-minute silence was observed, and prayers were offered for the peace of his soul.

Sahu, who played a pivotal role in various social and cultural activities in the region, leaves behind a legacy of unity and community spirit. In his final message to the people, he urged, “Unity is the best policy.”

The recently concluded Shital Sasthi Yatra — a festival close to his heart — will now be celebrated every year in his memory, ensuring that his dreams and contributions continue to inspire future generations. His passing, just two days after the deities returned to the temple, has left the community shocked, but his memory and service to society will remain etched in collective remembrance.
