JSW Steel Odisha Mines Division Pays Tribute to O.P. Jindal on his 96th Birth Anniversary

Barbil: JSW Steel’s Odisha Mines Division paid rich tributes to its revered founder, Shri Om Prakash Jindal (fondly remembered as Bauji), on his 96th birth anniversary by organizing a series of commemorative events, including a blood donation camp and the inauguration of a new gym facility for employees. The initiatives reflected his enduring legacy of leadership, service and nation-building while reaffirming the values and vision he championed.
The commemorative event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across all mine locations and other business locations, reaffirming their shared respect for the visionary leader.
At the Barbil office, Business Head Shri Prasanna Panda, Head HR Shri Chittaranjan Bahinipati, Head of Operations & Projects Shri Ram Shankar Sharma, Head, Finance Shri Ankur Dokania, along with other colleagues, paid floral tributes to Shri Jindal and reflected on his inspiring life, values and immense contributions to the nation.
As part of the observance, the blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with the District Headquarters Hospital, Keonjhar, and the Keonjhar Blood Bank. The initiative received an overwhelming response from employees and members of the local community, resulting in the collection of 163 units of blood, which were handed over to the blood bank to support patients in need.
The camp was led by Dr. Ganesh Panda, Chief Medical Officer, Odisha Mines Division, along with Dr. Soubhagya Samal and Dr. Manumangat Marand from DHH, Keonjhar Blood Bank.
Further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to employee well-being, a new gym facility at the JSW Residential Complex. The facility is expected to promote fitness and encourage a healthier lifestyle among employees and their families.
Shri Om Prakash Jindal was a pioneering industrialist whose vision and leadership played a transformative role in India’s industrial and socio-economic development. His invaluable contributions to the steel industry earned him the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2004. Beyond his achievements in industry, he dedicated himself to public service as Haryana’s Minister of Power, a member of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, and a representative in the Eleventh Lok Sabha. His enduring legacy continues to inspire generations and remains the guiding force behind the values and growth of the JSW Group.
