TPNODL Flags Off Solar Rath in Kendujhar, Expands PM Surya Ghar Outreach through Seva Setu Camps

Baleshwar, Oct 1: TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) further expanded its consumer outreach for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in Kendujhar with the flag-off of a new LED Solar Rath at Kendujhar Sadar, alongside Seva Setu Camps organised across three blocks of the district.
The LED Solar Rath was flagged off by Mr. Vishal Singh, Collector & District Magistrate, Kendujhar, in the presence of Mr. Mandardhar Mahalik, ADM, Kendujhar; Mr. Rajib Kumar Nayak, Chief Engineer – Solarization Project; Mr. Rashmikanta Behera, Superintending Engineer, Kendujhar Electrical Circle; district administration officials, TPNODL representatives and local stakeholders.
Solar Rath will travel across rural communities, commercial marketplaces and prominent public locations to take awareness on rooftop solar closer to consumers. Through interactive outreach, the initiative is intended to help consumers understand the benefits of rooftop solar and provide guidance on PM Surya Ghar, eligibility, applicable government subsidies and the application process.
As part of the same outreach drive, Seva Setu Camps were organised at Patna, Ghasipura and Kendujhar Sadar blocks. The camps provided consumers with direct access to TPNODL’s Solar Cell, Customer Service teams and Business Associates, who addressed consumer queries and provided assistance related to rooftop solar adoption and the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The outreach received active participation from consumers, local administration, public representatives and community stakeholders. Through various awareness initiatives and Seva Setu Camps conducted during the day, more than 385 consumers across the five districts registered for the scheme, reflecting growing consumer interest in rooftop solar adoption.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, CEO, TPNODL, said, “The launch of the Solar Rath in Kendujhar marks another step in our efforts to take rooftop solar awareness and facilitation closer to consumers. Alongside our Seva Setu Camps, it enables us to engage directly with communities, address their queries and support them through the adoption process under PM Surya Ghar. With the continued support of the district administration and our stakeholders, we remain committed to making clean energy solutions more accessible and accelerating rooftop solar adoption across Northern Odisha.”
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana promotes rooftop solar adoption among residential households, supporting cleaner energy generation and enabling eligible consumers to avail applicable financial assistance under the scheme.
TPNODL is continuing its Seva Setu outreach across multiple blocks in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj, with a focus on bringing awareness, guidance and application support closer to consumers.
Through these initiatives, TPNODL continues to strengthen its grassroots consumer engagement and clean energy outreach, supporting wider adoption of rooftop solar and contributing to a more sustainable energy future across Northern Odisha.
