Commitment for Community: JSW starts free eye screening in mines area
JSW Foundation and Vision Spring eye to cover 20,000 patients from 56 DIZ villages

Barbil: First of the many mega free eye screening camp, organised by JSW foundation, was inaugurated on the Nuagaon dispensary premises on December 7, in Keonjhar district. Vision Spring implemented the mega free eye screening camp for better vision health of its local villagers.
More than 150 patients were screened for eye ailments during the camp and a few patients with serious eye ailments were also identified. Patients availed free eye checkup by specialists and were also given spectacles. Prescription eye glasses for those with vision correction needs will be custom made and home delivered in 15 days.
Most of the patients belong to below poverty line and weaker sections of the society those unable to avail proper eye treatments in their locality.
JSW Foundation`s free eye screening camp will be conducted for three months covering its 56 direct impact zone (DIZ) villages. The officials said that free screening and vision correction service will be provided to 20,000 people in three months including children and senior citizens during this period.
JSW Foundation had provided similar services in Paradip to 10000 people in the recent past and is simultaneously conducting 10000 eye screenings in Jharsuguda and 5000 eye screening in Kutra area of Sundergarh as well, taking the total number to 45000 eye screening across Odisha this financial year. Both the local administration and people have appreciated this service in remote locations by the JSW group under its corporate social responsibility.
