Maoist Insurgency Takes a Blow as Three Surrender at DPO Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Odisha: In a major breakthrough, the Malkangiri police today announced the surrender of three Maoists belonging to the Kartanpalli area. The surrendered Maoists have been identified as Monoj @ Moti Madhi ,Pandu Kabasi and Aite Kartami of Daldali village under Kartanpalli GP, Mathili PS and govt. announced a reward of one lakh rupees on each head of the surrendered militants.
These three active Maoists have been surrendered before the Director Intelligence Sri.Sanjeev Kumar Ponda, Addl. Director operation Sri.Amitabh Thakur, DIG SIW Sri.Annirudha Singh, DIG Koraput Sri.Rajesh Pandit and SP Malkangiri Sri.Nitesh Wadwani at the District Police Office.
The Director Intelligence Sri.Ponda have stated that the three Maoists have been active members of the banned Maoist organization and were involved in several acts of violence and criminal activities in the region. He also said that the surrender of these Maoists is a major blow to the Maoist organization and will help in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The Director Intelligence have also said that the surrendered Maoists will be provided with rehabilitation and reintegration assistance as per the government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy. Sri.Ponda have also urged other Maoists to give up violence and join the mainstream society.
Finally Director Intelligence have praised the efforts of the local intelligence unit and the anti-Naxal force for their contribution in the operation. The police have said that they will continue to work closely with the community to maintain peace and stability in the region
