LoP Jayanarayan Mishra threatens to expose minister Naba Das’ murder mystery in State Assembly

Bhubaneswar, Feb. 18: Unperturbed by the campaign for his arrest by the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), BJP stalwart and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Legislative Assembly Jayanarayan Mishra on Saturday said that he would soon expose the mystery surrounding the brutal murder of state health minister Naba Kishore Das.
The expose, as Mr Mishra claims, would come at the forthcoming Budget session of the Odisha Assembly commencing February 21.
“I have put several facts before the media and there are a lot of issues, including the Naba Kishore Das murder case which I will raise in Odisha Legilative Assembly. People know very well who are behind the ghastly murder and they will understand when I make reference without taking their names,” said Mishra.
Mishra further alleged that those, who are involved in the Naba Kishore Das’ murder, are doing conspiracy against him.
“As several high profile people are involved in the murder, we are demanding a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). But the ruling BJD is not paying any heed to our demand,” he said.
According to Mishra, attempts were also being made to ensure that the accused go-scot free.
Mishra, who is now in the eye of a controversy for allegedly misbehaving with a lady police inspector of Dhanupali police station in his home district Sambalpur, said that all the protests which took place in front of his residence in Bhubaneswar were ‘sponsored ones.’
“Such conspiracy is being done against me by those who are behind Naba Kishore Das’ murder,” alleged Mishra.
“Since 2014, there has been a conspiracy to defame me. The Odisha police has turned into a political tool of the ruling BJD and it is being misutilised to harass the Opposition leaders.” Mishra added.
Responding to LoP’s statements, senior BJD leader Sashi Bhusan Behera said, “Whenever any unfortunate issues or any other issues have happened, BJD has discussed it in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Every political leader should also maintain some decency and should not resort to any kind of violence.”
