A highly educated girl quits job to make sanitary napkin

JAJPUR,. Oct 11: Baisakhi Jena, a highly-educated girl, has returned to her village after leaving a good job and a glamorous lifestyle. She is making sanitary napkins for women living in rural areas. Women are starting to overcome the stigma around menstruation.
They are raising awareness about the benefits of using sanitary napkins. Baisakhi Jena, a girl from Chandikhol area, is the only daughter of sports teacher Basudev Jena and Vijayalakshmi Jena. After completing his schooling in the village school, she left for Bengal. There she passed his MSc in Biotech from Vellore University.
Later she was working in a company in Bangalore. But she was not interested in the job and was constantly thinking about how she could become self reliant. And then Baisakhi returned home. While staying at home, she thought a lot about the future.
After much deliberation, she decided to start a sanitary napkin business. Baisakhi founded the company ‘Flora’ to provide low-cost sanitary napkins to women living in rural areas.
Besides, she is creating awareness among women about the use of sanitary napkins and its benefits. Baisakhi said. “I worked for three years. But I was not satisfied with my job. That’s why I came back to the village and started a new sanitary napkin company ‘Flora’. Women don’t talk much about menstruation. They feel bad talking about it. Women should know that menstruation is a regular process in their body,” Baisakhi inspiration for other women, said social worker Rachita Mishra.
