Balasore , Oct.10 : Reaffirming its commitment to inclusive development and social responsibility, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) – a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha – has taken a meaningful step to empower differently abled individuals by distributing six electric three wheelers under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This initiative, carried out as part of Tata Power’s flagship “Pay Autention” initiative, aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to persons with disabilities enabling them to live with dignity and independence.

These specially designed electric vehicles – equipped with space for carrying goods – will allow the recipients to take up delivery work and other small scale transport services. For many of them, this is not just about gaining mobility but about reclaiming control over their lives. The handover ceremony was held at TPNODL’s corporate office in Balasore in the presence of CEO Mr Gajanan Kale along with other senior officials including Mr Joydip Roy – Chief Commercial, Mr Nilesh Potphode – Chief Operations, Mr Pradeep Mohanty – Chief Projects and Mr Harish Sharma – Chief Contracts & MM (Materials Management). Pinakhi Sonpal, Satish Kolte and Pankaj Mishra of Tata Group were present as the Tata Affirmative Action Plan (TAAP) observers.

Speaking at the event CEO Mr Kale emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader vision to create meaningful impact on the lives of those who are often left out of mainstream development. He noted that TPNODL’s CSR efforts are rooted in real human needs and are designed to make lasting changes in the communities the company serves.

TPNODL has been consistently implementing a wide range of CSR activities across Northern Odisha that touch lives in significant ways. From providing free education to underprivileged children to offering skill development training for unemployed youth – many of whom have secured jobs in reputed multinational companies – the company’s efforts are helping build a stronger and more inclusive society. TPNODL has also deployed mobile healthcare vans in remote

rural areas delivering essential medical services to people who otherwise have limited access. Additionally, it has supported women from self help groups by offering vocational training in tailoring and beautician skills which has helped many of them become self reliant and economically empowered.

Through initiatives like the distribution of these electric three wheelers TPNODL continues to demonstrate that corporate responsibility can be a powerful tool for social transformation. It is not only lighting up homes but also illuminating lives with opportunity dignity and hope.
