Bhubaneswar/Tikiri, March 10: Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda—a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited under the Aditya Birla Group—has launched its flagship skill development initiative, Project Kaushal, on March 8, 2025, at Phuljoba. This pioneering initiative is designed to enhance the employability of local youth by equipping them with essential technical skills.

The project’s first batch of ITI training was formally inaugurated by Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head & President, Aditya Alumina Refinery, who also unveiled the project’s official logo, “Kaushal.” This marks a significant milestone in the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aiming to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill development.

The launch event witnessed the presence of ITI aspirants, their parents, community leaders, opinion makers, and senior management officials from Aditya Alumina Refinery.

Focus on Technical Training

In the initial phase of Project Kaushal, 50 ITI aspirants from the local community will receive training in technical trades such as electrical and fitter streams. These students will undergo a two-year ITI course, followed by a one-year on-the-job training program in Bhubaneswar. The programme is designed to empower the youth with industry-relevant skills, preparing them for sustainable careers.

Encouragement from Leadership

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Mazhar Beig extended his best wishes to the selected candidates, urging them to pursue their training with dedication and sincerity. He also announced plans to introduce an apparel training program, specifically designed for young women in the region, further expanding the scope of skill development initiatives.

“We are confident that Project Kaushal will make a significant impact in building a skilled workforce for the future,” Mr. Beig stated, emphasizing the company’s commitment to community development and capacity-building efforts.

The event concluded on a heartfelt note, with parents expressing their gratitude to Aditya Alumina Refinery for initiating a program that promises to transform the lives of local youth through education and skill development.
