Bhubaneswar, May 3: The Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, along with the President of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Dr. Shailesh Kumar, met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, at Lok Seva Bhawan on Thursday to deliberate on key issues concerning the growth and development of the premier medical institution.

During the meeting, Dr. Biswas highlighted several critical areas requiring attention, including the need for additional land to support the expansion of AIIMS Bhubaneswar in response to increasing healthcare demands. He also proposed the integration of the institute under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to ensure better access to civic amenities and urban services.

Reiterating AIIMS Bhubaneswar’s commitment to excellence in patient care, medical education, and research, Dr. Biswas emphasized the institution’s role in nurturing skilled healthcare professionals for both regional and national needs.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister commended the contributions of AIIMS Bhubaneswar to the state’s healthcare landscape and assured full cooperation and support from the state government for its further development. “AIIMS Bhubaneswar is playing a transformative role in improving healthcare and medical education in Odisha,” he stated.

Following his meeting with the Chief Minister, Dr. Biswas also held discussions with Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja and Health Secretary Ms. Aswathy S. on various aspects of the institute’s comprehensive development.

Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Biswas said, “It was an enlightening interaction with the Hon’ble Chief Minister. We discussed several crucial matters aimed at strengthening healthcare services, educational outreach, and infrastructure development at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.”
