NEW DELHI,NOV 13 : UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty celebrated the auspicious festival of Diwali at 10 Downing Street in London with their daughters Krishna and Anoushka.

Rishi Sunak took to Instagram to share snippets from the intimate celebrations. The family was seen lighting up diyas at their residence. Akshata Murty, who has been making waves in the fashion world with her thoughtful sartorial choices, once again made a noteworthy statement on Diwali. In an ode to Indian culture, Akshata Murty wore a saree for the festival.

Akshata Murty opted for a simplistic yet striking royal blue saree, and teamed it with a matching blouse. The blouse she wore featured subtle golden accents.

In a stylish move, she added a traditional necklace featuring a pearl string and a golden pendant. The statement jewellery piece added to the festive elegance.

Akshata Murty paid a sartorial ode to India and its culture by wearing a saree for Diwali.

Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty’s daughters were also dressed in ethnic attire for at-home Diwali celebrations.

“A special moment for me to be celebrating Diwali with my family on the steps of No.10. Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating here in the UK and around the world,” Rishi Sunak wrote while sharing photos on Instagram.

Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty’s daughters also wore traditional attire for Diwali.

As for Akshata Murty, she also made an ethnic fashion statement in a Raw Mango kurta set for a pre-Diwali celebration she hosted at 10 Downing Street last week.

For the occasion, Akshata chose a stunning red-hued and golden brocade kurta set by Raw Mango, a renowned Indian fashion label known for its contemporary take on traditional Indian textiles and craftsmanship.
