Malkangiri 17 July 2023 :All India Kissan Sobha organized a rally starting from Butiguda and culminating at the Collectorate in Malkangiri. The rally aimed to address the grievances of farmers and draw attention to their demands. Following the demonstration, the organization presented a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Collector, Malkangiri outlining their key requests.

The farmers demanded the establishment of a welfare board dedicated to their well-being. They also sought land leases for those who have been cultivating the land for an extended period. Another request was the provision of a pension of 5000 rupees for farmers above the age of 55. Additionally, they demanded 2000 units of free electricity and a remuneration of 3000 rupees per quintal of Paddy. The farmers also advocated for the allocation of 3 lakh rupees to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

In addition to their economic demands, the protesters called for an end to the social persecution faced by tribal communities. Over 40 members from union participated in the demonstration. They emphasized that if their demands were not addressed, they would escalate their protests and take to the streets in the near future. The rally served as a powerful platform for farmers and workers to highlight their concerns and seek meaningful change from the government.
