AM/NS India observes World Steel Day for Safety and Health

Paradeep, April 30 : With an aim to spread awareness on the importance of health and safety at workplace, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) observed World Steel Day for Safety and Health at its operational sites in Odisha on April 28 -29, 2025. Various activities promoting health and safety in workplace were conducted at the Paradeep Pellet Plant and the Beneficiation Plant at Dabuna.
On April 28, 2025, multiple awareness sessions were conducted on health and safety focusing on ‘One Safety Culture’ which aims to create a uniform safety culture and enhance risk management across all operational locations within AM/NS India. The safety team led a mass housekeeping exercise and conducted polls and quiz for employees and associates at both plant locations. Employees also participated in safety pledge, promising to keep safety above all else.
On April 29, 2025, team building activities such as hazard hunts, poster and slogan competition, poem and essay writing competition, drama on rescue operations were organised at both plants which created mass awareness on the importance of safety and health in workplace. A valedictory ceremony was also organised where senior leadership addressed the gathering of employees, associates and partners followed by award distribution to the winners of the various competitions. The ceremony also witnessed insightful discussions and on-stage performances by employees.
With dedicated efforts and spirited participation, AM/NS India reaffirmed its commitment to creating a culture of health and safety across its operational sites in Odisha.
