Balangir forest officials arrest Jharkhand animal poacher

Balangir, Jan. 27: On January 23, a person named Mukesh Chandrabanshi, aged about 28 years and a permanent resident of Kusahi under Kandi police station in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district was apprehended by Haribansh Padhan, forester, Hardatal section, for illegally laying wire with bamboo pegs and bottles to hunt wild animals through electrocution inside the Chandili Reserved Forest.
Upon searching two handmade Katras,two pieces of half burnt wild pig liver,approximately 200 meters of binding wire,a pair of gloves,and other items were seized from the absolute possession of the accused.
After a thorough investigation, the accused, who is currently staying at Bhutiarbahal of Balangir district, was forwarded to the SDJM Court,Balangir.
The investigation was carried out by Sri Ghanashyam Mahanta, ACF, Sri Jitendra Sahoo, ACF,and the Balangir Range Staff led by Sri Nabin Kumar Panda,Range Officer, Balangir Range.
