Malkangiri Odisha :In a dramatic turn of events, Congress workers today showed black flags and raised “go back” slogans to protest against the visit of Minister of Higher Education Rohit  Pujary to the  Annual Function of Malkangiri Arts and Commerce College. The incident occurred as the Minister’s convoy was passing through the NH-326 .

According to eyewitnesses, the Congress workers stood on the road and raised slogans against the Minister, accusing him of neglecting the development of Malkangiri district.

The State Youth Congress Secretary, Ishaq Khosla, stated that despite the college being in existence for 42 years, it has not been declared as a government institution. He further added that crores of rupees have been spent on the BEd College, yet it remains unopened.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders defended their actions, saying that it was a peaceful protest against the government’s apathy towards the people of Malkangiri.

The incident has once again highlighted the political tensions in Odisha ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. With both the BJP and Congress trying to gain a foothold in the state.
