Coordination Meeting Held on Mo Ghara Scheme at Malkangiri District

Malkangiri, June 8, 2023 – A coordination meeting of district-level officers and bankers was held today at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall in Malkangiri to discuss the implementation of the Mo Ghara Scheme. The meeting was presided over by Zilla Parishad Executive Officer, Ratnakar Sahu, and attended by ADM Maheswar Chandra Nayak.
The Mo Ghara Scheme, initiated by the Chief Minister, aims to provide affordable housing options for poor and lower-middle-class families. During the meeting, various aspects of the scheme were discussed, including eligibility criteria, categories, subsidies, loan amounts, monthly installments, e-governance, and complaint resolution mechanisms.
According to Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Ratnakar Sahu, families possessing a Record of Rights and a house site are eligible to apply for the scheme. Loans of up to 3 lakh rupees will be sanctioned, which can be repaid in installments over 11 years. To qualify, the monthly income of the family must not exceed 25,000 rupees.
Applications for the Mo Ghara Scheme will be accepted starting from June 16th. The officials present at the meeting included APD Himanshu Moharana, Balaji Patnaik, all Block Development Officers , Tahasildar, and representatives from various banks.
Speaking about the scheme, Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Ratnakar Sahu emphasizing its potential to provide secure housing for economically disadvantaged families. He urged eligible individuals to take advantage of the scheme and emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens.
The coordination meeting concluded with a commitment from the officials and bankers to ensure the smooth implementation of the Mo Ghara Scheme, providing necessary assistance to eligible applicants and resolving any issues that may arise during the process.
The Mo Ghara Scheme is expected to bring significant benefits to the underprivileged sections of society, addressing their housing needs and improving their overall quality of life.
