Counting of Votes Concludes in Malkangiri District: BJP and Congress Secure Constituencies

Malkangiri, June 5, 2024 – The vote counting for the 146 Malkangiri and 147 Chittarakonda constituencies in Malkangiri district concluded today. The process, which commenced at 8:00 am, saw the dedicated participation of all officers and employees engaged in the electoral process.
In the 146 Malkangiri constituency, BJP candidate Narsingh Madkami emerged victorious, securing a total of 77,863 votes. His nearest rival, Congress candidate Mala Madhi, garnered 63,298 votes, while BJD candidate Manas Madkami received 34,082 votes.
Similarly, in the 147 Chittarakonda constituency, Congress candidate Mangu Khila clinched victory with a total of 55,188 votes. His closest competitor, Dambru Shisha of the BJP, obtained 45,790 votes, and BJD candidate Lakhmipriya Nayak secured 34,820 votes. Mangu Khila won by a margin of 14,485 votes over Dambaru Sisa and Narasingh Madkami won by a margin of 9,398 votes over Mala Madhi.
In the Nabarangpur Parliamentary Constituency, BJP candidate Balabhadra Majhi was declared the winner with 294,910 votes. BJD candidate Pradeep Majhi secured second place with 238,721 votes, while Congress candidate Bhujbal Majhi finished third with 168,171 votes. Balabhadra Majhi’s victory margin over Pradeep Majhi was 56,189 votes.
The electoral outcomes reflect the competitive political landscape of Malkangiri district, showcasing strong performances by both BJP and Congress candidates across the constituencies.
