CSIR CELEBRATES IT’S 81TH FOUNDATION DAY

Bhubaneswar,SEPT. 28: CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar celebrates the 81th Foundation Day of the parent body CSIR, New Delhi in the premises of the institute at Bhubaneswar on 27th September 2022.
The Foundation Day programme was held in IMMT started with the welcome address by Prof. SuddhasatwaBasu, Director, IMMT.
Addressing the gathering Prof. SuddhasatwaBasu, Director, IMMT said, CSIR has played a crucial role in shaping the modern India and Indian society during COVID-19 by organising many development programmes starting from manufacturing to genomic studies for viruses and research on energy sources etc. We also research about different type of products that we get from Deep Ocean.
Speaking on this occasion Hon’ble Chief Guest, Sudhakar Panda, Director, NISER, Bhubaneswar told that we should allow the new generation to flexibility in academics and should not ignore our responsibilities. We should take advantage from the new education policy. At last he wished to go ahead in a progressive way .
On this occasion Hindi Magazine “Abhivyakti” was released in the presence of the guests and dignitaries.
Guest of Honour, Prof. Ramakrishna R. Sonde, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, IIT-Delhi delivered the Foundation Day Lecture on “A next decade of opportunities and challenges on high ash coal gasification”
Guests of the occasion visited various facilities at CSIR-IMMT and witnessed the demonstrations of key technologies. IMMT has signed an MOU with Jaydev Banana Farmers and Artisans association for the Technology of Potash Enriched Biochar from waste Biomass and provide it to the market.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahu, Chief Scientist, Chairman, CSIR Foundation Day Organizing Committeeand he proposed the vote of thanks.
On this occasion, there was announcement of scholarship to the successful wards of staffs in different categories also felicitated to retired and present staffs. Most of the staff and Scholars of CSIR-IMMT and other invited guests attended the programme.
Exhibition and Live demonstration of different technologies and R&D facilities @ CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar Engineering students from OUTR (CET): 170, ITER, SOA: 57, KIST: 50, KIIT: 36 total 313 students & faculties visited.
Around 300 students visited under JIGYSA programme from KMBB College, RRL Project School, Vani Vihar High School.
