Bhubaneswar, May 22: A fresh case of Covid-19 has been detected in Bhubaneswar, raising concerns over a possible resurgence of the virus in Odisha. The patient, who recently returned to the city from New Delhi, has tested positive and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Health officials confirmed that the individual is in stable condition and receiving appropriate medical care. While specific details of his travel history remain undisclosed, the case underscores the continued risk of infection through domestic travel.

In response, the local health department has launched a contact tracing drive to identify and test those who may have been in close proximity to the patient. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have reinforced preventive measures to curb potential transmission.

The Odisha government has once again urged citizens to remain alert and adhere strictly to COVID-19 safety protocols — including wearing masks, practising hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing. People experiencing symptoms have been advised to promptly report to health authorities.
