Balasore,Aug 22:  We have introduced & started utilizing “TROLLEY MOUNTED Distribution Transformer” for the first time in our operational area. This mobile trolley is consisting of 400KVA Transformer & 800A LT Air Circuit Breaker fitted on a Trolley. Thus this is a transformer with LT side protection on wheel.

                This will surely help in reducing the downtime during DTR failure & uninterrupted supply for the consumers during longer outages for maintenance of project work. 5 Nos. of this Mobile Trolley were already launched & delivered at each circle Balasore, Bhadrak, Baripada, Jajpur & Keonjhar Circle. Another 4 Nos. are already in pipeline which will be further kept at few critical areas.

                                                                Key Benefits –

•             Mitigating the longer supply interruption during DTR failure. This mobile unit will help to restore power in a significantly shorter time period as compared to replacing the burned DTR with a good one which in turn will lead to reduce revenue loss, consumer hassle and “No supply” complaints.

•             It will help to ensure continuity of power supply to consumers in case of longer planned outages like during maintenance & project works (DTR augmentation/refurbishment).

•             This will ensure to meet the excess load demand during local festival/events (Funfair, Technical Expos, Events etc.)

•             To mitigate overloading of existing DTRs in specific seasons like summer.

•             In the event of a disaster, it would be suitable for restoring power to hospitals, fire services, PHD pump house and railway services.
