Malkangiri, 14 Feb 2025: On the directive of District Collector Ashish Eshwar Patil, ADM Vedabara Pradhan flagged off the Labour Awareness Vehicle from the Collector’s office premises. This month-long initiative aims to educate workers across the district’s blocks, NACs, labor markets, and construction sites about state government and labor department welfare schemes.
The awareness drive will highlight benefits provided through various labor welfare boards, including Odisha Kotha Badi and the Odisha Security Board. It will also inform workers about unorganized labor social schemes and government regulations concerning child labor-free initiatives and inter-state migrant workers’ rights and responsibilities.
Key officials present at the launch included Labour Inspector Prasanna Kumar Panigrahi, Assistant Labour Officer Purnima Duruka, Child Protection Officer Narayan Dash, and representatives from Childline, CWC, Parivartan NGO, and the labor office. Their collective efforts aim to enhance awareness and ensure better implementation of labor welfare programs across the district.
