District Level Yuva Utshav-India@2047 Celebrated in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, 12 July 2023 :The District Level Yuva Utshav-India@2047 was successfully held at Malkangiri College, Malkangiri, organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Department of Government of India. The event was inaugurated by ZP Chairman Smt. Samari Tangul, who emphasized the importance of reading good books and actively participating in the country’s development. The theme of the event, “Panch Pranam of Omrit Kal,” was highlighted by District Youth Officer Harish Roopal, focusing on the vision of a developed India.
National Youth Day, celebrated annually since 1985, with Swamy Vivekananda’s birthday as its foundation, had the theme “Developed Youth – Developed India” this year. Several notable figures attended the event, including DIPRO Pramila Majhi, District Employment Officer Mansvi Sethi, and District Food Safety Officer Prabhas Sethi. Asst.Professor Lingaraj Mishra, Principal of Malkangiri College, and Asst.Professor Ashok Kumar Shadangi from the Department of Economics were also present as guests of honor, providing encouragement and support to the students.
The event saw the participation of 250 students from various high schools and colleges across the district. They took part in competitions such as logic, drawing, photography, and poetry recitation. Additionally, a cultural program was organized, and the Nehru Youth Volunteers, Malkangiri College’s National Summer Students’ Corps, National Service Organizations, Youth Red Cross, and ex-students lent their assistance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from National Service Planning Officer Premrekha Bhatra. The District Red Cross Secretary, Dr. Ranjan Kumar Swain, played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the program. The event aimed to inspire the youth to take pride in their identity, discard selfishness, and fulfill their responsibilities as good citizens, fostering unity in diversity and working towards building a developed nation.
