The 67-year-old man stood by his Coronavirus infected wife for 14 days

Sukinda, Aug. 3: True love can keep Coronavirus at a distance, even if some people may differ with this argument and contest that it cannot conquer the prowling disease. Such an interesting report has come from Odisha’s Jajpur district.
According to reports, Kailash Pradhan (67) had got his wife Goli Pradhan of Kaliapani under Sukinda block admitted to the state-run Acharya Harihar Institute of Cancer (AHIC) at Cuttack. A few days ago, the institute was shut down after many of the patients and its staff members tested Covid positive.
The 62-year-old Goli was advised to stay in home quarantine where she was later found infected with Coronavirus.
Since Goli always needed support of her husband for taking food and medicine, she was allowed to stay at home under the observation of local Covid hospital doctors.
After Goli was treated for 14 days and declared Covid negative, the state health officials conducted a swab test of Kailash to find if he was infected with the disease while taking care of his wife.
To the utmost surprise of the doctors, the man tested negative.
“Since we do not have any other family members, I had to take care of my wife. By the grace of God, she has got cured of Covid-19 and I have been found Covid negative. God is very kind to us,” said Kailash.
What is quite surprising is that Kailash never wore any mask of hand-gloves while feeding and taking Goli around for a stroll in the courtyard of their house. He used his towel to cover his mouth and nose and used plain soaps for cleaning clothes and articles.
“This is a clear case of strong feeling on the part of a person for his beloved. He has defied all logics of science and we can say he has conquered Covid-19 by his true and perpetual love for his wife,” said former finance minister and vice president of ruling BJD, Prafulla Chandra Ghadai.
