Bolangir: Forest officials arrest elusive pangolin smuggler Jaimangal Bariha

Bolangir, Oct. 19: In a major breakthrough for wild life protection, the Patnagarh Range staff nabbed an accused named Jaimangal Bariha in connection with the recent Indian Pangolin seizure near Barjhula Village of Larambha Section on October 10, 2023.
Despite the initial escape of the accused, the unwavering determination of the forest officials led to Bariiha’s arrest on October 16. He was forwarded to the SDJM Court, Patnagarh.
This accomplishment serves as a testament to dedicated efforts to safeguard our invaluable wild life, emphasizing that every stride forward is a stride towards conservat- ion success.
Recently, Patnagarh Range’s staff seized sal round logs measuring 30.12cft,and Sal Patli measuring 8.01 cft near Maral village of the Larambha Section. In this connection, five accused namely Bhaskara Bhue, Chittaranjan Bhue, Tikelal Bhue, Hemanta Putel and Dileswar Bariha were arrested and forwarded to the SDJM Court, Patnagarh.
The seized materials were brought to the Range Office Campus for further investigation. The operation was conducted by Sri Priyabrata Naik, Forester, Sri Mithun Mirdha, forest guard along with the Para Squad of the Patnagarh Range under the guidance of Sri Anand Chandra Bishi,Range Officer.
