Gang rivalry in Balasore, miscreants shot youth death in broad daylight

Balasore, Nov. 1: Gang rivalry has once again taken its toll in Balasore. On Sunday, some unidentified miscreants shot a youth and then hacked him to death in the road daylight at Kuruda Square under Balasore Sadar police limits.
According to sources, past enmity is the reason behind the murder.
The deceased was identified as Binod Bihari Das, a resident of Jagannath Patna under Sadar police limits.
Sources informed that Binod had gone on motorcycycle to Kuruda Square for some work Sunday morning. The miscreants chased him from behind and opened fire at him.
The bullet hit Binod’s head. Before speeding away from the spot, they too attacked him with a billhook, in order to ensure his death.
The incident has left the people in a state of panic.
After getting information, a team from Sadar police station reached the spot and rescued a critically wounded Binod and rushed him to Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH). The doctors there pronounced him received dead.
The police has launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants involved.
