Healthcare-Industry collaboration in Odisha highlights advancements in medical innovation

Bhubaneswar, April 25 : In a significant collaboration aimed at bridging industry and healthcare, Utkal Chambers of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL) and Utkal Hospital jointly hosted the third edition of their Advisory Committee Meeting in Bhubaneswar on April 25 . The meeting brought together eminent medical professionals and key representatives from the business community to engage in meaningful discussions on the rapidly transforming healthcare landscape of Odisha.
The event featured a series of expert-led sessions by senior doctors from Utkal Hospital, addressing groundbreaking developments across various medical disciplines. Mr. B.K. Subodh Singh, CEO of Utkal Hospital, set the tone with his keynote address on “Transformational Journey and Its Impact on Odisha’s Healthcare Sector”, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to innovation, advanced patient care, and community outreach programs.
The knowledge-sharing sessions saw distinguished specialists present their insights:
Dr. Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director of Medical Services and Director of Oncology, spoke on “Transformation and New Trends in Cancer Treatment”, emphasizing the importance of technological integration in oncology.
Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Sahoo, Senior Neurosurgeon and Director of Neurosurgery, discussed the evolution of Endoscopic Spine Surgery, underlining its minimally invasive benefits.
Marking World Liver Day, Dr. Salil Kumar Parida, Senior HPB and GI Surgeon, raised awareness about liver health and the need for early detection and advanced surgical options.
Dr. Dibya Singha Das, Senior Orthopedic Surgeon and Specialist in Robotic Joint Replacement and Arthroscopic Surgery, presented on “Robotic Joint Replacement”, detailing how robotics is revolutionizing orthopedic care.
Also in attendance were Dr. Sanjib Kumar Mishra, Director of Radiation Oncology and Senior Consultant at Utkal Hospital, and Mr. Subash Chandra Pati, GM, Business Development, who contributed to the discussions.
From UCCIL, prominent office-bearers including Dr. Prabodh Mahanti (Chairman), Dr. Sanjeeb Mahapatra (Honorary Secretary), Mr. J.K. Patra (Vice President, Industry), Mr. G.L. Sharma (Vice President, Commerce), Mr. Narayan Kumar (Honorary Treasurer), Mr. Kahnu Ranjan Prusty (Joint Secretary), and Mr. Santosh Agrawal, along with other executive members, participated actively in the proceedings.
