Malkangiri, 18th January,2024:-Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik marked a milestone today with the inauguration of the Shri Jagannath Express bus service, connecting 30 districts to the sacred city of Puri via Bhubaneswar. Launched under the Lakshmi bus service scheme as part of the 5T initiative, the service features 80 super premium Sreejagannath Express buses. In a significant move, Chief Minister Patnaik announced a 50 percent discount on tickets for mothers traveling in the Sreejagannath Express, making it more accessible for them. Additionally, the Lakshmi bus scheme offers tickets for mothers at a mere Rs.5, providing substantial benefits.

The inauguration ceremony, conducted through video conferencing, saw the active participation of local officials, including MLA Chitrakonda Purna Chandra Baka, District Magistrate Vishal Singh, ADM Vedabar Pradhan, and Zilla Porishad Executive Officer Ratnakar Sahu. The Chief Minister’s announcement garnered appreciation from women, Jagannath enthusiasts in Malkangiri district, who expressed gratitude for the discounted tickets, facilitating their direct journey from Malkangiri to Puri to witness the divine splendor of Lord Jagannath.
