UTTAR PRADESH,SEPT 19: In Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is now being worshipped at a temple – literally. An idol of the chief minister – portraying him as an incarnation of Lord Ram – is being prayed to at the temple in Ayodhya’s Bharatkund.

Bhajans praising the chief minister are sung during aarti. These bhajans have been written by the person who built the temple – Prabhakar Maurya – a Yogi Pracharak since 2014. Audio and video cassettes of the bhajans are being prepared to promote the place.

This comes at a time when the long-promised Ram Temple is under construction in the UP city. Prabhakar Maurya built the temple just 15 km from Ayodhya – considered to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. Yogi Adityanth’s temple near Bharatkund on the Ayodhya-Gorakhpur highway is at the same place where Lord Ram’s brother Bharat is believed to have taken over the reign of Ayodhya for 14 years by placing his wooden sandals on the throne.

The temple is a witness to the fulfillment of Maurya’s resolve – that he will build a temple in the name of the person who builds a temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Maurya told India Today TV. Now, that the grand Ram temple is being built – in which Yogi Adityanath has played a big role – he has built Yogi’s temple in line with his resolve, Maurya added.

“Yogi Maharaj’s height is 5.4 feet and hence the idol installed is a big one. Attention has also been put to the clothes on the idol. It has the same clothes that Yogi Adityanath wears,” Maurya said.

The idol was sculpted by Maurya’s friend from UP’s Barabanki district, who took about two months to complete.
