Malkangiri,01 August ,2023 :In a significant step towards bolstering security and law enforcement in the region, the long-awaited Korukonda New Police Station was inaugurated today. The decision to establish the police station in the Korukonda block area, under Malkangari district, has finally come to fruition, bringing relief to the residents and villages in the vicinity.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the top floor of the Malkangiri Model Police Station, was presided over by the distinguished Addl. Suptd. of Police, Tapan Narayan Rath. The new police station will serve nine Gram Panchayats from the Korukonda block and some villages from the Balimela, Kudumulugumma, and Khairput Blocks area.

With the new police station being commissioned, the residents of these regions can look forward to improved security measures and quicker responses to law enforcement matters. However, due to the absence of a government house in Korukonda, the police station will function temporarily on the top floor of the Malkangiri Model Police Station until a dedicated building is constructed.

Mr. Rath, during his speech, assured the attendees that the Korukonda Police Station would be efficiently manned by two sub-inspectors and three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). Additionally, he emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order in the region, pledging to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.

Shri.Reagan Kindo, who currently serves as the Inspector-in-charge of the Malkangiri Model Police Station, will also be assigned the additional responsibility of overseeing the Korukonda Police Station.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and esteemed individuals from the region. Jitu Burudi, the Block Chairman of Korukonda, and Satya Panigrahi, the MP representative , were among the notable attendees. Moreover, SDPO Sachin Patel, Dinesh Naik, Jadumani Jena, district headquarters police officers, Malkangari and Korukonda police station officials, as well as intellectuals of the Korukonda area, graced the occasion, making the event a grand success.
