Jajpur medical college Completed very Soon

JAJPUR, JAN 4 : Chief minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal to name the upcoming government-run medical college and hospital at Jajpur after Jajati Keshari, the famous Somavansi ruler of ancient Odisha.
The Jajati Keshari Medical College & Hospital (JKMCH), Jajpur will become functional from next year with 100 MBBS seats. Jajati Keshari, who ruled the ancient kingdom from 1025 to 1040 is believed to have laid the foundation of the famous Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar besides building so many other temples. He is credited to have built Abhinav Jajnagar, the modern Jajpur, as the capital of his kingdom.
During a recent visit of chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s secretary V K Pandian, the people of Jajpur had requested that the medical college be named after Jajati Keshari. “Naming of Jajpur medical college after Jajati Keshari is a humble tribute to this great historical personality who had enhanced the glory of Odisha,” a statement issued by the chief minister’s office said.T he government statement said the JKMCH was constructed at a cost of Rs 526.21 crore on a 46-acre campus.
The state government is in the process of applying before NMC for issue of letter of permission for admission of 100 MBBS students for the academic session 2024-25 in favour of the new medical college. Former Chief Engnieer Public Works department Taraprasad Mishra said L&T has been given the charge for construction of the medical .Accordinglythe agency will construct the medical college and hospital on turnkey basis,which will benefit the people of Jajpur and Bhadrak districts, said he added.Jajpur MLA Pranab Kumar Das played a crucial role in setting up the medical college.
