Magnificent Gesture: KISS Foundation helps Gupchup seller pursue engineering dream in KIIT-DU

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3: It’s a great gesture indeed…an exemplary humane step that would inspire others emulate. KISS Foundation has extended a helping hand to a poor meritorious Gupchup (panipuri) seller to enable him to pursue mechanical engineering course in the prestigious KIIT Deemed to be University.

Thanks to KISS Foundation, Rahul Mahat, a meritorious student who opted to sell gupchup, will now pursue technical higher education in KIIT.

Rahul, who hails from Anandpur under Anandpur municipality of Kendujhar district, secured 87 percent marks in +2 exams this year. Though he dreamt of becoming a mechanical engineer, he found it a Himalayan task to fulfill his dream because of poverty. His father, the sole bread earner of the family, died a few years back.

Due to poverty, even after getting good grades in +2, he took to selling Gupchup in the market to manage his family.

On knowing about him from the media, Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder, KISS Foundation and MP, Kandhamal contacted Rahul’s family through his representatives. Dr Samanta immediately announced that KISS Foundation will take the responsibility of his education in KIIT Deemed to be University free of cost.

Besides education, KISS Foundation will also facilitate his suitable employment, Dr Samanta assured.

Expressing happiness, the family members of Rahul conveyed their gratitude to the KISS Foundation and Dr Samanta for this noble gesture.

It is an endeavour of KISS Foundation to ensure that not even a single child is deprived of education due to any unfortunate circumstances, added Dr. Samanta.
