Koraput, Dec. 14:  The Odisha government has decided to set up an Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) Kotia cluster of villages to impart quality education to the local students.

As per reports, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)  pattern school will come up at Ganjeipadar village under Pottangi block in Koraput district to provide quality education to the children of the villages nearby Kotia.

Initially, the school will function in the buildings that have been built for the development of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (SC and ST) people in Ganjeipadar. However, the school will be shifted as soon as a permanent building for the Special Adarsha Vidyalaya is built in the area.

According to sources, the school will be built to divert the children in the area from pursuing education via Telugu language.

“It was a long standing necessity in the region. We are happy that the State government accepted the proposal of the district administration immediately and the necessary grant has been provided,” said Koraput Collector Abdaal Akhtar.

“Hopefully, the students in the area will get quality education after the school is functional,” said Akhtar.

Notably, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have been locking horns around 21 villages of the Kotia area for the past 60 years. Both the state governments are claiming the villages to be their own regions.

The Supreme Court has recently asked both the states to solve the dispute by holding mutual talks.
