Malkangiri, 14 September ,2023:- A land dispute in Kamarguda village of Malavaram Panchayat, under Motu PS, took a violent turn this morning as a heated argument between family members resulted in one man being seriously injured by arrows. The victim, identified as Boji Beti, was rushed to the local MV-79 Hospital in critical condition, with three arrows lodged in his hand and one in his back.

The altercation began when Boji Beti attempted to fence off a piece of land, which was met with opposition from his elder brother’s son. Tensions escalated quickly, leading to a confrontation between the two relatives over the land’s boundaries.

In a shocking turn of events, Boji Beti’s cousin resorted to violence and launched four arrows at him. Three of these arrows struck Boji’s hand, causing serious injuries, while one arrow found its mark in his back.

Efforts to transfer the injured Boji Beti to Malkangiri District Hospital were hampered by heavy rainfall and flooding along the MV-96 highway. As a result, he was admitted to MV-79 Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Local authorities, including the Motu Police, have initiated an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, traffic on the national highway remains disrupted due to the adverse weather conditions, further complicating the situation.

The incident serves as a grim reminder of the consequences that can arise from unresolved land disputes and highlights the need for peaceful conflict resolution within families and communities.
