Malaysian Bharatanatyam dancer Sri Ganesan collapses on stage in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 11: In a heartrending development, Malaysia’s eminent Bharatanatyam Guru Sri Ganesan collapsed on stage in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar on Friday evening.
As per reports, a three-day dance programme was organised at Bhanja Kala Mandap in the city. Before the closing ceremony on Friday, the 63-year-old Ganesan came to the stage along with other guests to light the lamp. However, he suddenly collapsed on the stage.
Other guests and dancers rushed him to the Capital Hospital immediately. However, the doctors declared him “received dead.”
“It was the final evening of the Jayadev Samaroha. An eminent Bharatanatyam guru from Malaysia, Sri Ganeshan came to the event. He came to the stage to light the lamp and while on the main stage, he collapsed. Then he was immediately rushed to the hospital,” said Jagabandhu Jena, the organizer of the cultural event.
