Malkangiri Authorities Organize Grand Preparatory Meeting for 77th Independence Day

Malkangiri,31 July 2023 : The 77th District Independence Day Preparatory Meeting took place today at the Zilla Porishad Conference Hall in Malkangiri, setting the stage for a grand celebration at DNK playground. The meeting, chaired by Additional District Magistrate Mr. Maheshwar Chandra Naik, was attended by esteemed guests, including Addl. Suptd. of Police Mr. Tapan Narayan Rath and Sub Collector Dr. Akshay Kumar Khemundu.

Excitement and enthusiasm were palpable as plans for this year’s Independence Day celebration were unveiled. The event will witness a series of competitions for students from high schools and colleges, showcasing their talents and patriotism on this historic occasion. The main highlight will be a spirited parade, for which students will undergo practice sessions at DNK playground on August 11th, 12th, and 13th.

On the auspicious day, the celebration will commence with the melodious rendition of Ramdhun in Malkangari town at 4.30 am by the District Information and Public Relations Department. The official ceremony will begin at 9:15 am when the chief guest hoists the national flag at the DNK playground and delivers an inspiring speech.

Acknowledging the participants’ efforts, the best teams in the parade competition will be awarded shields, while other exceptional achievements will be recognized with memorial shields. Winners of all competitions will be honored during the main event, adding to the festivity.

To ensure a unified celebration, a crucial decision has been made to raise the national flag at 7.30 am on Independence Day in all government, private, and educational institutions across the district.

The meeting saw the active participation of various stakeholders, including Police Sergeant Mr. Jyot Kumar Kiro, DIPRO Pramila Majhi, district-level officials, teachers, students, media representatives, bank branch managers, and members of voluntary organizations. Their valuable inputs and ideas contributed to making the event more inclusive and vibrant.
