Malkangiri Police Cracks Down on Traffic Offenders with ‘No Tolerance Tuesday’ Enforcement Drive

Malkangiri Odisha,21 March : In a bid to curb rising incidents of road accidents in Malkangiri, the police department has launched a special enforcement drive called ‘No Tolerance Tuesday’. As part of the drive, the police department conducted a rigorous checking of vehicles on Tuesday and imposed fines on violators.
According to official reports, a total of 79 vehicles were seized and 27 driving licenses were cancelled for various violations. The police also collected a whopping sum of Rs. 3,38,000 in fines from errant drivers.
This initiative comes in the wake of increasing fatalities due to road accidents in the district. In 2022 alone, 95 people lost their lives in such accidents. The Malkangiri police department has urged the public to abide by traffic rules and cooperate with the authorities in making the roads safer for everyone.
The ‘No Tolerance Tuesday’ enforcement drive has been hailed by many as a much-needed step towards ensuring road safety in Malkangiri. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to bring down the number of road accidents and create a safe and secure environment for all commuters.
