Manish Sisodia jail inmates ‘hardcore criminals’, conspiracy of Centre: AAP
NEW DELHI,MAR 8 : Jailed Manish Sisodia has been lodged in “the most dreaded criminals in Jail No. 1 of Tihar Jail”, alleged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj has accused the central government of hatching a conspiracy to endanger Manish Sisodia’s life. He questioned the jail administration’s move to lodge the former Delhi deputy chief minister in Jail No. 1, despite the court order to lodge him in a Vipassana Cell.
Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted that the Delhi court had clearly directed that Manish Sisodia should be lodged in a cell where he can do his meditation.
“However, the BJP-led government has deliberately housed him with the most hardened criminals in Tihar Jail. This is a clear sign of the government’s vindictive attitude towards its political rivals,” he said.

He further alleged that the prisoners in Jail No. 1 have a history of violent incidents, and many of them were mentally ill.
“They (Sisodia’s jail inmates) have multiple murder cases going on against them already, and the addition of another murder case would not matter to them much. This raises serious concerns about Manish Sisodia’s safety and security,” the AAP spokesperson further said.

Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged, “The fact that the BJP could not defeat AAP in Delhi in three consecutive elections, despite several conspiracies, seems to have led them to resort to such extreme measures. This is a dangerous sign for Indian democracy.”
He further said, “The AAP leader added that on this Holi, the party feels the absence of its leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, who are being held in Tihar Jail. “
The AAP has demanded an answer from the Centre over an “undertrial like Manish Sisodia, who is not a convicted criminal, is being kept with the most dangerous and violent criminals in the country”
The AAP attacked BJP’s central government for stopping its vendetta politics and taking immediate action to ensure the safety and security of AAP leaders.
The AAP leader was taken to Tihar jail on Monday afternoon after the Rouse Avenue Court sent him to judicial custody till March 20 in Delhi liquor policy case. The 51-year-old is under CCTV surveillance.
The court allowed Sisodia to carry the Bhagavad Gita, spectacles, and medicine to jail, while directing the Tihar jail authorities to consider his request to be allowed to do Vipassana meditation.
