KORAPUT, MAY 10: Panic gripped Chitrakonda area on Wednesday in Odisha’s Malkangiri district after posters by Maoists surfaced at Tinikonia Chhak.
The hand written posters on pieces of red cloth urged the locals to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of revolutionary socialist Karl Marx.
The posters bearing the name of Kalimela Regional Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) asked the people of Chitrakonda to follow the philosophy of Marx to solve various problems in the society.
“We must read the life and philosophy of famous political philosopher Kark Marx. His philosophy is never dead…it is still alive and very scientific. It has solutions to all problems, including social inequality. We must uphold Marx’s philosophy and practice it,” reads the poster written in Odia.
On May 5, similar posters were found in Doraguda, Nuaguda and Papululu villages under Chitrakonda police limits in the district.
Earlier on Monday, Maoists posters bearing the name of Malkangiri Koraput Vishakhapatnam Border (MKVB) committee of the CPI (Maoist) were found at Badadural village along Koraput-Malkangiri border.
The posters threatened to kill Border Security Force (BSF) informers in the area.
