Massive Rally in Malkangiri Demands Action Against Bangladeshi Rohingya Settlers

Malkangiri, Odisha,14 Aug,2024 – In a show of significant strength and unity, the Hindu Jagarana Mancha of Malkangiri, under the leadership of President Sri Bhagirathi Dalei and Secretary Dibakar Palo, organized a large-scale rally on 14.08.2024 from the Malkangiri Bus Stand to the Collectorate. The rally was held to demand the recognition and removal of Bangladeshi Rohingya Muslims allegedly residing in the district and to address the exploitation of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
The rally, which attracted a considerable number of participants, saw demonstrators holding placards and banners, chanting slogans demanding the expulsion of illegal immigrants and calling for justice for Hindus in Bangladesh. The demonstrators marched through the main streets of Malkangiri, culminating at the Collectorate, where they submitted a memorandum to the Honorable President of India through the Collector of Malkangiri District.
The memorandum highlighted the concerns of the local Hindu community regarding the presence of alleged illegal immigrants and urged the government to take immediate steps to remove them from the district. It also demanded stronger action against the persecution of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
The rally was further bolstered by the participation of the Nikhila Bharat Samanway Samiti Odisha State Committee, along with other Hindu organizations, which lent their support to the cause, bringing together a diverse group of individuals united by a common concern.The protest was peaceful.
